The book that I am reading, "The Jade Peony" by Wayson Choy is a book based on a Chinese immigrant family in Vancouver, Chinatown in 1930 to 1940. They were trying to live there and doing their everyday life as citizen. The main characters had many conflicts at that time because of the war between China and Japan. World War 2 was about to begin, so there were many issues at that time. The book is very interesting because of the connection to our lives as well. Now, I am in Chapter 2 of the book. There is nothing I learn throughout these pages, but the story is getting more interesting. What I understand is, the main character wanted to go back to China because of bone shipment. But due to the war conflict, she was having a hard time. The inquiry question is how can we help the society to improve their life? This is a hard and general question, but many people are questioning about their life. Most people are having troubles through their life time. I'm looking forward to read more.

The book, "The Jade Peony" by Wayson Choy talked about a Chinese immigrants family moved to Vancouver,  Canada because a war was about to occur between China and Japan. I choose this book because there are still many interesting facts that relate to our lives. I also wanted to to know is there any other lessons I can learn from it other than political system. How can we help the Chinese immigrants improve their English language? I haven't read that much over these days because I had to study for my Science test and I feel really sad about my grandpa that he passed away around last Sunday. I'm  looking forward to read more and hopefully learn more stuff as I read.

The Canadian Novel, "The Jade Peony" by Wayson Choy is based on an event in 1930's where a Chinese immigrant family moved to Vancouver China Town for settling because World War 2 had almost started. The narrator and Poh-Poh, an elder woman, were trying to have a normal life in Vancouver. I choose this book because this book relates to many interesting ideas. As my previous post, this book also reflects on political system. But this topic is too general, so I found another interesting point. The main characters were having troubles with their languages. What I learned about this issue is that it still apply to the Chinese immigrants now, here in Vancouver. There are still many Chinese immigrants can't speak good English based on they haven't learned English in China. My next Inquiry question is how to help the Chinese immigrants to speak good English? Because it affects their future life where they have to find a job. They wil need a very good English speaking and writing skills to get a good job. I am still reading this book, but I'm having a tough time understanding the materials.

"The Jade Peony" is a book based on Chinese immigrants in Vancouver from 1930's to 1940. I choose this book is because the setting and the atmosphere are very interesting and emtional. As the story's setting is very close to World War 2, there are many conflicts and issues that the main characters are having. I still struggling with the book because it is hard it read. But the general concepts and ideas, I think I can get an image. I really hope to learn is how they are going to solve their issues. What kind of life they are having are still apply to our life now? I learned their political systems at that time. The Chinese immigrants are treated badly at that time. I think there are many lessons that I haven't touch on yet.

The Canadian book, "The Jade Peony"  talked about a Chinese immigrant family moved into Vancouver during the 1930s. While I was reading the book, I notice some horrible events in Vancouver at that time. There were political issues during that time. A conflict between Chinese immigrants and the Japanese because it was close to World War 2. I learned that even Chinese people arrived in Vancouver, they were treated badly as the Japanese. This issue is big and it may apply today. As today, many homeless people collecting garbage to earn money. This is how they survived. Mostly Chinese people and some local doing this just to survived. Will this issues affect today as a political issue. Will it be even worse before we find a way to solve it. I have learned a lot in this part and it is important to our life as well.

The book, The Jade Peony, by Wayson Choy is a story based on Vancouver where three Chinese immigrants lived in Vancouver during the 1930's. I choose this book because this book impact on our life, too. During that time, WW2 almost started and their life must be very tough. At that time, it was chaos and tough. This may impact to our life in the future. We have to be prepared and find a way to solve it if there is an issue. As I read along the book, I learned how they handle their life through tough time. I also learn how they can treat a tough time into a happy time. The story is very interesting. I am still in the beginning of the story, but as I read along. More lessons will show up, so I can learn from it. My question is, how are they going to remain their normal life during that time? I am looking forward to read more.

I am reading a book called "The Jade Peony" by Wayson Choy. I choose this book because this book sounded very interesting to me. The author sets the setting in Vancouver during 1930s to 1940s. I am curious how the main character reacts at that time and how they survived. The setting of the story is interesting because it is almost World War 2. The main character's life in this book has impact my emotions because they faced many different kinds of feelings such as sadness and happiness. I am hoping to learn from this book is how they faced different kinds of challenges and solved it. This lesson might occur in my life. I need to find a way to prevent it and it is also a good opportunity to learn from it. I just started the book but I'm looking forward to hear more about their life. What challenges do they face? What is their goal in Vancouver?
