I published my poem at my home. I think most of the viewers on YouTube saw this video. I'm also trying to involve as many people as I can but because this is my first time published my assignments on the public. It is hard for me to do it. I think published my poem on YouTube is a good work for me especially for the first time. I never published my poem on YouTube before. I hope I got many viewers.

Poem Presentation

The War by Benjamin Chen

War, war, war, the sound of gun battle staged
People fought, people died, the gun of Bang! Bang! Bang!
The Earth trembled as my head rang
People screamed out and raged
The soldiers were battling so long that they felt aged
The gun fired as the sound like instruments sang
People running on the mud, muddy land as they couldn’t find the sword’s tang
The place of battle felt like an animal caged

The city burned and trembled beneath the earth as it was crumbling
Soldiers back at the base were tearing apart
Few came back and some returned lonely
Soldiers, blood drips on their side, lay on the mat mumbling
Victory! Victory! Soldiers went home cheering as they did their part
They needed to call their honey

Lord of the Flies - Personal Found Poem

Fire, FIre, FIRe, FIRE!

Found Poem Content From: Lord of the Flies, William Goldings, and Chapters 1-12 (Pages: 32-41, 44-46, 79, 92, 96-99,130, 141-142, 147, 150, 173, 198-200)

No houses, no smoke, no fire, no flames, no people
The planes were shot down with flames and fire
We need a shelter; we need to make smoke
Make a fire, make a fire
Matches, his glasses can be used as burning glasses.
A trickle of smoke rose up
The smoky flame flapped higher, which exploded with a sharp crack
The boys smiled cheerfully
The black and yellow smoke crept excitedly towards the sea
And the fire shouted at them.
Gazing at the exploding fire like a bomb with a fearful face
Like looking at a bright light as it glows slowly
The darkness of the flames was sending smoke and sparks over the mountains tops
The dancing boys danced around the fire
Rescue, Rescue, Rescue, Fire is important on the island.
Smoke! Noises of the fire
The hot, bright thunder of fire
Fire broke out chanting through the forest
Burst into a flaming beast
Voices rose with laughter through the horizon
Rescue, Rescue, we need rescue!

The Jade Peony - Personal Blog 9

The book that I am reading, "The Jade Peony" by Wayson Choy is a Canadian book talking about a Chinese immigrant family in Vancouver, Chinatown during the 1930-1940's. I choose this book because this book is very interesting in terms of connection to our world. The book has some kind of connection to our lives such as settings, political system, education, economics, and general issues that still reflect us today. What can we help the locals to get a better life? What I can do is helping out in the community such as helping them in translation. The main character and her family were helping each other in order to live during that time. At that time, it was chaos because the war was about to happen. I'm still reading and I still didn't find anything that I can learn through but I will keep a look out.

The Jade Peony - Personal Blog 8

The book, "The Jade Peony" by Wayson Choy talks about a Chinese immigrant family in Vancouver, Chinatown during 1930 - 1940's. I choose this book because it reflects some kind of ideas to our lives as well. I'm still trying to find out any other new ideas than political system. The characters are full of emotions towards each other. They encounter many conflicts and issues during that time. What I understand from the book during that time is there was a war going on between China and Japan. As immigrant arrived in Canada or USA, their lives changed a lot. My inquiry question is how we can help the locals and the immigrants to improve their education and personality. In terms of personality for the Chinese immigrants, there are many Chinese immigrants are being unfriendly towards other people and to the locals. Not because the Chinese immigrant people want it to, is because their education in their childhood encountered horrible conditions such as being smacked by a teacher or getting yelled by their parents. We can teach them how to treat people nicely but this requires a lot time to achieve this. For the locals, many of them are having troubles with courses especially with Math. Most of the Chinese immigrants are very strong in Math and Physics.

The story is well written and full of interesting ideas. I'm looking forward to read more.

The Jade Peony - Personal Blog 7

The book that I am reading, "The Jade Peony" by Wayson Choy is a book based on a Chinese immigrant family in Vancouver, Chinatown in 1930 to 1940. They were trying to live there and doing their everyday life as citizen. The main characters had many conflicts at that time because of the war between China and Japan. World War 2 was about to begin, so there were many issues at that time. The book is very interesting because of the connection to our lives as well. Now, I am in Chapter 2 of the book. There is nothing I learn throughout these pages, but the story is getting more interesting. What I understand is, the main character wanted to go back to China because of bone shipment. But due to the war conflict, she was having a hard time. The inquiry question is how can we help the society to improve their life? This is a hard and general question, but many people are questioning about their life. Most people are having troubles through their life time. I'm looking forward to read more.

The Jade Peony - Personal Blog 6

The book, "The Jade Peony" by Wayson Choy talked about a Chinese immigrants family moved to Vancouver,  Canada because a war was about to occur between China and Japan. I choose this book because there are still many interesting facts that relate to our lives. I also wanted to to know is there any other lessons I can learn from it other than political system. How can we help the Chinese immigrants improve their English language? I haven't read that much over these days because I had to study for my Science test and I feel really sad about my grandpa that he passed away around last Sunday. I'm  looking forward to read more and hopefully learn more stuff as I read.
